how do i split a large video file ?

I just downloaded a dvd movie which is a massive 1.3 gb....and i need to transfer it to another computer.... which file splitter would u recomend?
and also id like to know is it possilbe to split the file and make the spliteed file viewable?... i mean can i make 2 cds containing the video 650mb and 650mb and see them without merging them again? direct from the cd??

dr divx can do it. Just say u want 2 files of 700mb. Or else if you dont want to convert, then winrar will do. U can specify the volume size, just say 700mb.
