How good are timex watches?

Well i have a habit to wear some geeky or funky type watches.

When fastrack launched its digital fastrack i bought it.Than Nike .And than i like The one kerala trance but its not source here.

Now i am totally sold on this Timex watch.

Its costs around 11k .Hence i want a machine to last atleast for 4-6 years with regular maintannce.

Is timex a strong brand.If not which other brands i should look for?
 
Timex is quite a nice brand, but not a strong and premium brand as per my perspective :)

Better go for some brand like tissot, tommy-hi, etc
 
Based on my experience Timex is pretty good, at least for digital ones. I had bought a Triathlon series some 11 years ago from USA, and it still works fine. The only maintenance required was the battery replacement. The analog ones though, conked off after 4 years. Don't have recent experience with Timex or any other brand, as I stopped wearing a watch since past few years.
 
For me Timex is a good brand. I have 2 timex watches, both analog, am not into digital ones. I have one running from 5 years or so and one running from last 2+ years. Mine is expedition series (both).

I had to once change the belt though. As it started disintegrating from the hole which was always used.

This is full metal including the belt. I am not using this since past 2 years and its metal band and metal behind the watch has sort of corroded. Cannot explain here.

My dad had a slightly older version of this watch for almost 10 years before he gave it to me. I used it for 3 years+. Absolutely no issues. It survived all the mountains and trekking during my boarding school and worked perfectly despite everything. Would still be chugging along now if it hadn't been stolen. Great watch.
 
The Adidas watches I've seen were terrible (atleast the cheap ones). They came pretty close to looking as bad as cheap Chinese watches.
