How to build a Sound Proof room,suggestions on a room needed.

Hello folks,
My friend, a tech enthusiast and a music lover , has his new house under construction and its about time he gives the architect with what dimensions he want the room (400 yards , the house being constructed on,if that helps in anyway).
i require some suggestions from you guys regarding the Sound-proofing of the room as the guy is into some really loud music but his parents doesnt allow him to play his z5500 this high. he needs some tips about if it could help to get some soundproofing done while the room in construction to save costs or would it not matter even if he does it after sometime ?

and secondly , i want you guys out there let out your creativity on how you think the room should be . he wants it to be really modern one with lots of whites and glasses, will have his bigass PC and probably a projector too . basically , he wants to make it totally different from the whole house so that one gets stunned as soon as he gets inside the room. .. if you guys caught my drift then do take time to pour in your suggestions .

If i'm missing something , do let me know.

Glass = no soundproofing, unless it is double layer, and even then sound will leak (the best dual layer glass from Asahi allows isolation of 20dB max, and this drops off rapidly at lower frequencies). Double-walls is the only reliable way to soundproof, if at the stage of construction (room within room). I know for a fact that someone with 'only' a Z5500 will not be justify the cost of doing this. The sub of the Z is very boomy, and it is difficult to stop bass from travelling, even through airgaps.

Soundproof looks ugly, specially when done afterwards - requires a second drywall and insulation. Isolation is not as high as double-wall, though. Tell him to use headphones, then he can mercifully go deaf on his own. Or turn the volume down. That is the best way to soundproof. No use spending 2-3 lakhs on soundproofing for a 15K sound system, is there?

Soundproofing of home theater is common requirement & most good architect would know what to do & what material to use. Glass is a big no no in sound proofing where as glass wool is surely used between the walls but they 2 have different properties.

Basements are best suited for sound studios/home theater as 3 sides are already covered. Sound proof rooms cut u off from the environment so a CCTV is a must so you can watch the door that someone might be calling you.
 
What i recommend is that you sound proof the areas which lead to the maximum leakage of sound from the door, that is the doors and windows.
Windows you will need to use double glaze the windows, also the frames of the window will also need sound proofing treament. This should relatively be not that expensive.
Sound proofing the door is another matter. You will need a thick door, made up of multiple layers and there should be no gaps. Check out multiplex doors, you sud get a idea on how its done.

Isn't soundproofing supposed to be very expensive?

The places where I jam, the walls and ceiling is covered with thermocol. Looks horrible.
