Hello Friends,

Just reinstall XP Pro.

D & E drive Name Fonts color is Blue like D: (D: ) & E: (E: ) and all file names in these drives are in Blue Color.

In C drive Folder & File Name are in Black Color. :)

Can any one help me to make Folder & File Name Black color instead of current Blue color.

Thanks

The blue color means that those files are compressed..

you could change that

In Windows Explorer, Tools > Folder Options > View > Advanced

settings: Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color

hope that helps!

^^ It's Works. Done :hap2:

Does it makes any problem if I kept files encrypted or compressed in NTFS?

Also in C, D & E drive properties there is a Quota Tab, does I need to provide any quota? if yes how to calculate and on what basis? or shall I live it as it is (nothing provided) ?

Thanks :)

As far as I know, compression is done to save the disk space...thats all. So it should generally cause no problem. :)

Regarding "Quota", did you check the XP's help and support? ;)

well yeah... Compressing your drives makes ur computer to perform poor... as everytime u access the data frm that particular partition ..windows have to uncompress the file and then show to u the same.. this process of Compression and uncompression consumes the processor power resulting in the slowing down of ur computer... so Compressing the whole partition or disk is not recommended :)
