I posted a thread in the hot deals section and would like to edit the main thread title, you know, the one that appears in the main forum. So far all i've been able to do is edit the first post title.

Someone please help.

Cheers for the info. So i should just report the post and ask a mod to edit the title?

go to the main forum where you have created the thread. double click in the empty space (highlighted in pic below) and you can edit the thread title. Works only for some 5 mins after you;ve created the thread. If you cant using this method, contact mods.

Open the first POST for EDIT. (That is if you have created it). It will open in the edit window. Then click, Advanced. The title input box will be available now for append/edit.

That's an interesting method! Intentional or bug?

Then go in advanced.

Edit the thread title.

You are done :)

Tried this, it only changes the first post title.

Ofcourse it is intentional. I used to edit threads titles using this method when I was a mod.

Ok, the mods have edited the title as requested by me, but i did try the advanced-edit first post thing again just to be sure. And same result. Only changes the first post title. Maybe it's because of the section it's in?

^^ AFAIK, all the methods mentioned thus far will work only for a very short time (not sure how much, though) after a thread is created. Beyond that time period, whatever changes you do will only reflect in the first post and not the thread title. Reporting your own post, as you had done in this case, is the way to go..
