I am using a two year old Dell Inspiron 1501 with TK53 AMD processor. Served me well and is used now as desktop replacement.
Now i feel that the cooling fan seems to be working longer than it used to-( almost full time when temp reaches 25-30 deg C, ( was not so earlier). Is these are way to get inside and do a house cleaning of the hardware- i mean remove the dust ? does one use compressed air or what- how to get inside?- guidance in this will be welcome guys !

Recommend u take it to a good service centre and have it checked/ cleaned. You wouldn't want to accidentally damage a lappy that is more than a year out of warranty, right?

Thanks Naga for the good advice !Unfortunately no Dell service in Shimla, perhaps will try Chandigarh. Does anybody know of Dell service contact nos in Chandigarh/Mohali ?.

Same thing happened for my 2 years old compaq ..luckly i got an repair manual from the net opened completly and cleaned it ..If ur adventurous go for it.
But the safe bet will be getting it to the service center

Always search for service manuals for a product which you want to disassemble and experiment.. :)

Check this link to download a service manual for your laptop..

Now you can experiment with it.. :hap2:
Disclaimer: Me not responsible for anything that'll happen to your lappy.. :P
