How do you find out the panel type of an lcd display?

I mean like tn+film or mva or ips or s-ips or whatever else it is?

:) Thanks zhopudey...
two more questions:bleh:

1.I got from wikipedia that pva is same as mva but far more advanced versions offered by samsung..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TFT_LCD#Types
has higher contrast ratios...how much is it actually true?

2. mva has very slow response times compared to tn panels...
so does this reflect on actual performance vis gaming or movies?

Thanks for any help...
