How to protect the touch screen?

Hi,
I wish to know how can i protect the touch screen of a mobile phone? i fixed a anti-scratch film on my phone and within a couple of days it filled with numerous scratches. is there a way to protect the screen and resale value of the phone?

Well, depends on the quality of scratch gaurd... i bought one for my p990i for 400 bucks...using it for the last 3 months...no scratches evn after extensive use of the touch screen..
