The HTC 3400 is coming for around 12.3k currently .... if one doesnt need Wifi then how good is it ?

Also is the battery life ok or bad ? any other pros or cons ?

I am not sure about battery life , but the phone does have some really good features like screen size, touch screen, windows mobile platform (5.0 though), pretty good TI OMAP processor, 64 Mb of Ram which should be enough for general needs, A2DP

Good deal if you are getting it for 12.3k

Better go for HTC Touch i.e 3450 it will cost you Rs 17000/- with Bill Unlock Phone

+1 for HTC Touch! Will cost approx 15-15.5k without bill!

Reason: Read the HTC Touch vs P1i thread to know more about HTC Touch! Its really awesome :)

Check wether HTC has got service center in your city and then buy. HTC has only one service center even in a city like Chennai.

I feel P3400 wud b a good buy as its got a lot of stuff ..
im thinking about this fone for my dad....or the SonyEricsn P990i.. Any idea how much tht one costs now??

^^^ p990i grey is around 12k now.. think sony has stopped munufacturing it completely... u can find left over stocks at some places . i think its 18-19k with bill

I'm not totally sure but I think the P3400 and P3450 (Touch) run identical processors, if at all the HTC Touch should be slower (WM6+Touchy Touchy software :p). The only proper places most people will have access to WiFi will be either at home or work - at both places they have their PC's they can use to go online. So it's not really MUST-HAVE feature for the big majority of people. Besides, 3k less for a phone that does most of what the Touch does is great, more so because that 12-12.5k price I believe is with the bill and all~

Hi Vince,
Tell us wot u feel abt ur P3400.. im thinking of buying d same for my dad..
Does it hv Pdf file reader? how is the camera? is it easy to edit Word documents on d phone?
my dad wont b needing wi-fi so i think this wud b a good buy..

@vee10turbo: I feel the P3400 is excellent value for money.

It has got a pdf reader and the cam (2MP, no flash, no autofocus) is not great, but OK..
i havent tried editing any word document yet.

But the hand-writing recognition is very neat!

i'm a total noob when it comes to touchscreens, but i feel very comfy with it within a day of my purchase :)

Actually i read about WiFi SD cards that enable the p3400 to have wifi! thats pretty cool :)

@ vince
Hey man that sounds to be a pretty neat phone.. i think ill buy this one... and wi-fi SD cards! sounds cool but i havent heard of it man...?? but u wont be left with any memory if u put in a SD card just for wi-fi..??

@pathik
hey man HTC S710 is good but i guess it doesnt hv a stylus..i.e. touchscreen..so i guess it wud be hard to browse the
net although typing documents wud be made easy thru qwerty keypad.

i agree with you on the points about the s710 vee10turbo..

BTW i think i spotted a 2gb Eye-Fi card (thats what its called) for 100$ i think on ebay..
