It's true the Wildfire is now available for less than 10K in India. There have been many discussions about affordable smart phones in India and most end with the conclusion that the price range of 10 K is a psychological barrier for youth in India. As compared to the EU countries where almost 30% of the youth use smart phones, in India this figure is a mere 10%. However considering that India has the largest population of youths in the world (around 35 mil) it makes sense for manufacturers to come with with phones that can entice the youth to shell out the moolah. The HTC Wildfire's current pricing has brought it into this category.

HTC Wildfire is an Android phone featuring 3.2" capacitive touchscreen with Sense UI for easy navigation. The phone gives instant access to various social networking sites such as Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter through Friend Stream. Its 5MP camera comes with autofocus and geotagging features and supports instant upload of photos to social networking sites. It also has 528 MHz processor for faster browsing, 32GB expandable memory, push email, and Google Maps.

This phone was earlier selling for Rs.17490 and the current offer price of Rs.9999 by saholic.com is a steal for this phone. This is a perfect phone for the youth with good specs and great look and feel. :hap2:

Saholic is offering very lucrative deal on HTC Wildfire, a fully technology loaded phone with pleasing form factor and built quality.

This is a good deal, only if you can disregard its poor resolution screen.

Yep - the resolution is real bad. Most people end up buying for the HTC brand and then regret it later.

Might be mistaken - but the Optimus P500 is equal in most areas better in resolution. Right?

I have used Optimus P500 and won't say that it's a WoW device.. I found it pretty OK... But HTC phones are good.. Dude look at the Sense UI.. it's amazing.. fluidic experience and I am somehow a fan of HTC phones... Rightnow, using LG :-(
