I am the sad & hapless user of the htc wildfire s.
I had purchased this phone on June 16th from Alfa Mumbai for 13.5K [ I do not have any problems with Alfa as I have dealt multiple times with them over the past 10 years]. In just over 2 month's - the touchscreen became sluggish and extremely slow. Any calls that I made could not be terminated instantly - I had to keep pressing "end call" for more than 45-90 secs.
Still I dragged on for 2 more weeks until it went totally dead. Today it's been 7 days since I handed over my phone to the service center at Borivli-W [the western region of Mumbai has ONLY 2 service center's and the eastern 2!!!!]. They have no clue whatsoever when my phone will be repaired.
Their customer care no sucks - gets disconnected within 3-4 mins after giving all the details. I have emailed my disgust to their Asia Customer Center and although they were quick in replying they have not assured me of the time frame wherein I will get my phone back. I have demanded a new replacement..... highly unlikely that they will accede to my wish.
LESSONS LEARNT:
1] Stick to Brands that have service center's easily within your vicinity - unfortunately only 2 name's crop up Nokia & Samsung
2] Android Phones - while being good, check how much of space is available to install additional softwares [at least 512 MB]
3] Thinking of going back to Nokia
4] No matter how much one spend's - especially if it's over 10K, most handsets start giving problems or get outdated much too fast.
5] 3G still sucks - even though I am in Mumbai most often it's the simple "Edge" speed that one get's. I am using Vodafone and they are supposed to be the "best" in Mumbai !!!
