I want to make a server.

I want to be able to code in my local pc which is macbook m3 air 8gb 512gb and I want to build something that can run that script continuously. also I want to host so many scripts in that server. what is cost to make that setup ?

It really depends on What "SCRIPTS" you are running and what is your workload / use case

from my experience even that 8-12k rs mini pc has enough power to run 10 + heavy containers and jelly-fin aka streaming server

From my openion financial data = high availability

Get vps but cheap minipc will be more than enough if you want to tinker locally

Avoid RPI the mini pc is much more powerful in same price range

As someone suggested mini pc, that would be best for your usage.
Decent one will cost you 6-8k.
You can install debian with casaos then install your scripts in docker, will be easily manageable with web dash. you can throw up extra stuff too like jellyfin server or immich server

the reason is why I am not getting VPS is scripts contain sensitive information and I do not trust the VPS providers.
how to keep this thread engaging ? I have seen people type bump in the threads. what does it do ?
