Is the surface fabric or hard metal ... coz if it's fabric would have problem dissipating heat from beneath the laptop...

n give any idea of the price atleast..
 
^^ tbh, i feel we shouldnt really just jump in for this product.. this product seems a bit wierd since its not clear about its fabric and stuffs.. Laptop's heat dissipating is more important..

Since this is a new product, we should w8 how it actually works.. and then if its usefull and not affecting the cooling of the laptop then its ok for a price tag of < 1000 bux. Not a penny more than that..

If its working w/o creating any probs and the price is within the xpected range then would be a decent product.

Laptops heat dissipating is not getting affected in anyway. Its the same way you keep a laptop on any surface :S
 
^^ NO... heat dissipation changes a lot if surface changes.. Hard surface= more heat dissipation , soft surface ( read: bed sheet or some fabric) = no heat dissipation.

I personally have cut out a piece of aluminum of the size of my laptop & keep in underneath my laptop if i keep it on bed....
 
Dude it matters alot.. say for example if ur on a couch and ur using a pillow on ur lap and on that pillow u keep ur laptop and use it.. THAT is a BAD heat dissipation for the lappie.

IF you keep a wooden ply or a board and on that u keep your laptop while ur on the couch or something.. provides BEST dissipation for the laptop heat.

The reason is, on the harder surface the hot air coming from the laptop gets space and air to circulate .. while if ur on a pillow or something.. the laptop is stuck in the soft pillow, hence blocking the whole air circulation and causing the pillow surface hot and hence ur laptop is stuck on that surface.. it just pushes in more hot air..

The pic shown above shows probably it has some soft / velvetty surface??? if that is the case then its surely a bad idea for whatever buck its selling out. Even if its a hard surface having a thick cloth covered on it is a bad idea. Cloth / Fabric / Velvet, etc.

EDIT: Although for many laptops with side ventilation or something (which is a bad design :P, this CushTop will be gr8 but for the laptops like Insipron, studio, Acer Aspire, Travelmate, etc.. its a bad idea coz almost all of em have the hot air ventilation on its bottom.. or behind the screen or something

A long time ago i was looking for a laptop stand like one featured in the link below.

If someone could get one of these(non branded ones) for a reasonable price that would be great.There is no use in going for the big branded ones like belkin and others.I for one cannot seriously see how this one helps.sorry rahul but just my opinion.

this one is great but the question is how to get it.

SoulFire the deal extreme one is different.The one which i was referring to is a kind of z wherin you can adjust the height and tilt the platform according to your preference.It is available @ amazon and other retailers but the price is too much.

What i was suggesting was if someone could import this stuff from china it will be extremely cheap around 15 to 20 dollars.Cannot pay 80+ dollars for this contraption.
 
^^ The Z thing which allows u the adjustments of the height isnt comfortable for ppl who prefer to use a mouse instead of the laptop's touchpad. Plus there are chances of the screws getting screwed at the joints.
