I am planning to order a OBD II scantool from here

ELM 327 Car Diagnostics USB to VAG-COM Fault Code Cable - From China

Considering there are a large number of car enthusiasts on the board who'd be interested in this, I decided to run a quick interest check

If you wish to know what OBD II is all about, here is a good read:

The scantool itself costs ~$29 but shipping (preferably via UPS) adds up quite a bit . IF we have multiple order, the per head cost goes down substantially
All costs in USD:

# Total Cost Per head
1 $47.44--- $47.44
2 $81.25--- $40.63
3 $115.05--- $38.35
4 $143.94--- $35.99
5 $168.12--- $33.62
Shipping from chennai will be at actuals, but am sure it shouldn't be more than 50/- INR

I'll wait till Monday to place the order with them, if anyone is interested, please let me know :)

There are some OBDII scan tools on dealextreme too. Afaik, Maruti Suzuki Vehicles are not OBDII compliant. They use some proprietory protocol. GM vehicles are OBDII compliant.

aahhh. Swift doent support OBD. SDH has tired it on his swift and it is not working. screw you Maruti. OBD is the last thing that left in my carputer setup.

mostly all indian cars now support OBD II including swift, hmmm the price is pretty cheap , but wot will the final cost including shipping and stuf

Does not work.
I actually was very keen on building one (A carputer).
Have a 7 inch eeepc which, after modding with a touchscreen digitizer will be perfect for the task.
But all that iv read suggests that Standard readers are not compatible with Suzuki.(I have a WagonR 2003)

Chinavasion doesnt honor the one year warranty. Please be very careful with them. I had a very bad experience and after a long fight they refunded only $190 instead of $280 for a DOA product after returning it.
