Hey guys.

I talked with a very reputed cell phone dealer here at borivali regarding HTC TOUCH DIAMOND 2.

HTC dont plan to launch it here anytime soon and when they do, it will be 37-38k device.

I didnt want to wait that long and wanted it soon.
He has given the offer of 32-33k local pickup with 1 year warranty from HTC ( we will have to pay around Rs.650 for shipping costs, rest will be handled by him ).

The turnover for warranty will be 8 days max.

This is the same guy who arranged iPhones few years back for few TE members so they know how reliable he is. Cant post shop details in public on request and to keep this TE exclusive deal.

I have already ordered my piece and its coming on tuesday - wednesday.

If anyone else is interested we can ask for little discount ( it wont be much though )

SEALED PACKED ENGLISH LANGUAGE PIECE with EU/ASIA 3G frequencies and not US 3G mode. Fully carrier free.

confirmed people PM me. Other queries can be asked here.

Sri ,

I Have a Local Disti Here At chd ,I Am Giving a HTC Touch HD To a Customer @ Rs :41500/- + Shipping ,I Am Not Into Phones But i Can Ask Him ,Can You Send Me a Link .

Shripad can you inquire about the New Touch Pro 2 (its a Touch Diamond 2 with a slideout keyboard) ?

Thanks,

Axe.

The Touch Pro 2 hasn't been released internationaly yet.

Should be out soon.
Wrong. Unless you mean the TP2 getting offered via carrier discounts, it has been out for the past couple of weeks, albeit sporadically, across major markets in the EMEA and far east.
I've already placed an order and shall be getting it in about 2 weeks.
Damages: 30k+shipping. (35k) (+upto 3.5k in countervailing duty which I'll try and circumvent, obviously)

Superb! could u PM me details? Maybe I could get one too... :D

Ok... since you seem to have all the answers, would you care pointing us in the right direction?

I believe quite a few people are looking for the Touch Pro 2 rather than the Diamond.... including myself.

Pre-ordered through clove.co.uk about 10 days ago. Just google "Clove touch pro 2". They are very reliable and I had gotten my xperia from them late last year. The first shipment of TP2s is expected at the end of May and seems to be sold out. The next batch is expected in the first week of June.

The TouchDiamond2 is in stock and avialable for roughly 26K shipped via DHL, exclusive of any import taxes which may or may not be applicable depending on your circumstances.

Euro VAT isn't applicable to anyone living in India/US/SIN etc. so don't worry about that.

gforce what will be the apllicable duty rate if charged.

No need to remember all rates and percentages. Here is a simple calculator to instantly get the maximum rate of applicable import duty:
8517*-,Telephone sets, including telephones for cellular networks of for othe wireless networks : Import & Custom Duty Calculator.

Here are the calculations for a TouchPro2:
Basic cost: 32k
Import duty (if declaring full value of the item): 4K
Shipping via DHL: 2.7K
Total: varies from 34.7K to 38.7K

A TD2 will vary from 27K to 30k.

PS: I won't post more specific details for obvious reasons. Any specific stuff, PM me.

also look at htc magic and the strom 2 , those should be way better with the capacitative screens
^^ That is why most people prefer phones with a proper keypad like the TP2. It just makes typing so much faster and easier, unlike fiddling around with resistive or capacitive screens.

Btw, if I'm not mistaken, all WinMo phones use resistive screens.
Why Windows Mobile Devices Don't Have iPhone-like Touchscreens - pocketnow.com Forums

The BB Storm2 is still some time away. Besides, I think the first batch might be a Verizon exclusive. Also, it seems to have introduced some new problems like the recessed headset jack. If they can release a SE P1I-esque Curve 8900 type phone with a touchscreen, I would sell my 8900 right now and get that.

Well the TP2 is just wayyyyy too big and heavy for me. I carry my phones in hand or upper pocket and not on belt clip. And 178 grams and 17+mm is too much for a phone which I will be taking everywhere with me. in pocket or hand.
Have you guys used the new touch keyboards that comes with these devices?

There are extracted versions of Topaz available for most HTC phones and it works quiet well with resistive touch screens.

About Magic and dream, these are Android phone which hasnt exactly taken off like people expected it to.And TD2 and TP2 have twice the screen real estate than both those phones. So I would take TD2 or TP2 over those phones anyday. And with WM you better off with resistive screens anyway.

Andriod is almost fully functional on Elf (Touch) and partial functionality on the Touch Diamond .

Shouldn't take much time to be ported on Diamond 2 ..
