in2Cable should be shut down

Hi,

I'd like to bring to your notice the blatant disregard to providing a semblance of a service which in2Cable is indulging in.

They have horrible connection speeds, reliability, support and technical knowhow and were arrogant and over charged me like mad.

I did connection uptime and speed analysis and found that they were providing around 30% of what they were charging me for.

Moreover, there is this huge danger of your cable modem getting infected if you are on their network. This is not a joke. This is real. Two of my modems were infected by the in2Cable network.

I have written a semi-disclosure of my findings at:

Lingering Statements in the Dark

They are using a billing and invoicing software from 24Online which allows them to strong arm consumers. This is also causing blatant connection theft and they are totally unsympathetic about it.

I strongly urge all users to boycott in2Cable. They are also paying the local politicians and cable modem operators not to allow other players in your area.

I think us Indians should take a stance as consumers and let our numbers speak for themselves.

it provides internet connection here in mumbai ...

actually ya a lot of people are harassed by thier high handedness and thier inability to solve any problems!!

the best isp currently is mtnl.. hard to believe but it def is.... but then people like to stay and be harassed by cable wallas... you cant do much abt that now can you? (Well i`m talking abt a lot of my friends who are facing probs with in2cable too)

In2cable is pathetic, I dunno why you take their internet services at all. Their cable services are also pathetic, overcharging and giving sub standard quality.

@chic_magnet

Ask your friends to take a look at:

http://192.168.100.1

and click on logs.

If you see some suspicious entries. You'll know what they are, then your modem is infected by the in2Cable network.

I suggest you run or pressurize them to change their policies I mentioned in my blog:

In2Cable Horry Story

Basically what you should be asking for are SNMP OID filters and change of the default SNMP passwords

After my modem and my friend's were infected, and my attempts to talk to them fell to dead ears, I am switching to Airtel this week. And when I bought the modem it was worth some 8 grand or something. I am disgusted by these fellows.

Hopefully I won't look back after switching to Airtel.

^^ well we cannot access the logs as its in your lan. only in2cable users can access that

anyway, i have heard about their service too, and from what ive heard it really sux! the charges are too high, and they fiddle around with your usage log so you end up paying more :(

The firmware on the modem is auto-updated with a modified version. If you are in the in2Cable network then this can happen to you and you can do nothing about it since your firewall can only protect your PC.

This has various effects. It can appear to increase your speeds but various other undesirable effects can happen.

At best, you won't notice it and all your traffic is redirected, passwords stolen and possibly PC infected from redirected web sites.

At worst, your modem can be rendered completely useless.

It is a pain to flash your original firmware back but it can be done.
