The Indian space agency successfully launches another satellite into orbit

India today successfully launched the INSAT-4CR satellite aboard the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV)-F04 rocket: the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO)'s latest communication satellite.

The INSAT-4CR satellite is the third one in the ISRO INSAT-4 series of satellites -- the first attempt to launch the INSAT-4CR ended in failure during a July 2006 attempted launch. The launch from the southern India station located in Sriharikota took place after a two hour computer malfunction delay.

It's not our first launch. And the crucial cryogenic stage was imported from russia. The next GSLV launch should be an indigenous one since it uses a homemade cryogenic stage.

read somewhere that two new DTH operators have leased some transponders on this satellite for abt 10 yrs.

hmm! which was that site? :elder:
