Guide
I want to know details of where to buy a Sapphire X1900XT 512MB Graphics Card locally in Oak Brook, Illinois (USA).

Not Online.

Unfortunately most retailers like CompUSA/BestBuy/Frys stock only Built By ATI cards and they are priced exhorbitantly compared to their online counterparts.

Not necessarily... I got my XTX for 549$ when online prices were around 600$. Unfortunately when you buy from a brick and mortar store, u'd have to pay state tax. That jacks up the price a lot :(.

Computer components- always buy from the egg;for whole computer systems and laptops, circuitcity or bestbuy are the best;fry's is okay fro computer parts but no where close to the egg;and other stores don't even count;u'd be surprised at the outrageous prices circuitcity or even compusa charge for obsolete graphics cards and stuff;I am talking a 6200 128mb for $99(only!).

Yup and their stocks on high-end stuff always seems to be low.

Even when I was looking for an Opty 165, none of the retail stores had it while it was freely available online.

@ Under....
Since you are in States maybe you could do some research for us, I have heard many of the brick and mortar stores have some throwaway deals during the easter and xmas seasons, have you come across any ?

And Totally OT. Where can you get good deals on choclates ;)

Most of the deals are during 'thanksgiving';stand in a queue from midnight for hours in the cold and hope they don't run outta stock when its finally ur turn. Most of these deals are through MIRs which I personally hate.

The only store I visit is circuitcity only coz its nearby;since I take my time to decide on what to buy;the gas alone would cost me more than any savings if I decided to head down to Chicago or other places in Illinois where the big stores are at.A few friends who do go there usually come back with products that can be found cheaper online and this is after 'deals'.

So trust me: newegg is the best, why waste gas+time+tax on brick and mortar stores?

Chocolates:well u can find good ones for $8-20 from many stores;but if u think from an Indian perspective $20 for 20 or so odd pieces of 'French truffles' isn't a deal,is it?

Well jus check out bestbuy. I was speaking to my cousin today, although hes in San Diego and he said Bestbuy has the x1900. Check out circuitcity as well. But all that aside, why are u going for an x1900 now? I thought u were waiting for R600/G80?

i dropped that plan of waiting for R600/G80.

Best Buy has only X1900XTX for $650.

They only deliver to the credit card holder's address, they dont accpet international credit cards which do not have a billing address in the US. What u can do is have someone order it from newegg(Undertaker if hes willing to ;)) and ship it to your relative. And u transfer money to him.
