Hey folks,

Im thinking of getting the following system from a friend of mine.

i7 2600k - 9k [18 mnths]
Asus Maximus IV Extreme Z [z68] - 14k [18 mnths]
Gskill RipjawsX DDR3 16GB 1600Mhz - 5k [18 mnths]
Sapphire 7970 Dual-X 3GB [8+6 Pin] - 21k [12 mnths]
Dell U2412M - 15k [6 months old]
CM HAF 932 - Free
Venomous X RT - Free

Is this system worth upgrading from the below one:

Q9550 @ 4Ghz
4GB DDr2 @ 989Mhz
P5Q Pro
CM690
HD5450 [temp card]

And if its worthy in lieu of Haswell launch so close?

If yes, then are these prices sane?

Please do share your thoughts and inputs.

@memnom
the months you've mentioned in the brackets...is that the warranty remaining or the time for which it has been used?

Comes to around 64k without HDD etc which is high IMHO.

The months is the amount of time the components have been used.

Is the amount high even after considering the free cabby?

Not sure man, but with a budget close to 70-75k...you're better off buying a new machine according to me. Also, with a mobo, proc, and cooling kit like that i'm sure your friend has atleast tried to OC it a few times..Do you plan on OCing it yourself?

OC'ing is one of the reasons I like this rig.

My Q9550 runs at 3.6 and I've benched it at 4.2, could've gone more with a WC setup.

If i even get a really nice IB it has huge thermal issue and i don't wanna delid and stuff.

So instead I'm thinking of getting this and a WC kit and OC the heaven out of it.

Atleast that's the plan. But ur post has made me think twice now. And yes he had OC'd it to 5G.
