Hi,

I just installed a 4850. Its too big. I have 2 PCI slots on my mobo. One is already covered by graphic card. So I can insert my Internal tv tuner card in another slot. But the problem is that the GPU FAN directly points towards my Internal tv tuner card. And also there is too little space left between them. So I think If I insert my tv tuner card, my GPU will overheat, as there is too little space left between both.

I hope you all understood my problem. So any thoughts on what could I do. Also I can't live without both.

Thnx.

I don't think there is any other option instead of putting the TV Tuner Card in the free PCI slot. Use more fans to keep the temp inside the cabinet cool. Or keep one side of cabinet open while using the PC to keep the temp in control.

An image of your setup will help folks a lot to better understand your setup and then we can advise you accordingly.

Generally TV tuner cards don't heat that much and dual-slot cooler keeps temperature of HD4850 generally below 60 degrees so a card in close proximity to it isn't going to hamper cooling or burn up anything.

^^yes, I have a dual slot 4850, so thats the word.

I am not worried about the tv tuner card, but the air which is thrown away by the GPU will collide with the tv tuner card & it may return back to the GPU. So that may harm the GPU, as it will not get enough space to throw the air out. And yes, I already have one outtake fan at the rear. BTW, how can I know the temp of my GPU?

even gpu-z can show you gpu temps.

for full time monitoring, everest with vista/win7 sidebar is what i use.

Even the Catalyst Control Center shows GPU temps. BTW, the dual slot HD4850, which company is it ? I mean is it a Heatsink+Fan on top of it dual-slot config like the Palit or a single fan with single or twin airflow compartment besides the fan like the newer MSI R4850?

@Ryunosuke; its Sapphire HD4850 512 MB GDDR3. And it has a single fan, but a very big one.

So whats the conclusion, should I install that tv tuner card also? What say you all.
