Laptops installing XP on new HP laptop

hey guys,
my friend got a new hp dv6700 laptop which has vista (ofcourse)
its a 2ghz proccy
2gb ram
160gb sata 2 hdd
8400gs

the problem is that the xp setup cant detect any hard drive
PLZ HELP :D
 
nahh you need you download bios driver and copy thought the floppy and install the os using floppy

search the Intel website and download sata driver also raid too
or you can disable sata at bios i guess
 
^^its doesnt have a floppy drive... i have done that method of installing raid driver on a desktop before but no idea about laptop :)

and will check the bios but mostly it doesnot have any such option
 
hey u have if u dont have options to disable sata mode in bios then 2 diff things u can do 1st find out proper sata driver and use usb floppy drive when install sata driver when it asked press f6 for third party drivers or easy option is make new xp cd using slipstream inbuilt sata drivers how to slipstream just google it its easy and fine
