Hi,

I need feedback from people who have used intel compute stick... I will be mainly using this stick for

playing audio/video,
browsing internet,
playing audio/video via wifi,
playing 3d stuff
may be occasional photoshop

Will the stick can bear these tasks? Is it possible to buy the ubuntu version of the stick and install windows 8 in that on our own?

Can Google's chromecast suit for this purpose? Or Chromebit can handle this purpose?

Thanks,
Jammy

Yes to first three. Don't know about 3D stuff/ Photoshop.

Chromecast will require use of a smartphone for watching videos, playing audio.

The Asus Chromebit attempts to be the same thing the Compute Stick does, but runs Chrome OS instead of Windows, but it has not been released yet. A similar product running Windows from Asus is Vivostick, but again, the same has not been released yet. Don't know what Asus is doing.

The Lenovo Stick 300 is a similar product, and is a bit cheaper if bought from the US via Amazon (~8k), but can't vouch for real life usage.
