Can anyone suggest a good config with respect to Intel i5, within a budget of 30k?? Intel i5 is cost around Rs.6300 in chennai.(Intel,DP55WB,16x, S, L, DDR3).Is it good for gaming and applications??

whats the difference between Intel i3/i5/Quadcore??

You want the whole config as in monitor and all or only the Cabinet:S

Also the main difference b/w the Core i5 / i3 is that
1) Core i3 is on lower die 32 nm compared to 45 nm of i5
2) It has graphics chip built on the CPU die itself
3) The Core i3 is for the entry level user :cool2:

And yes the Core i5 is a good processor for up to midrange rigs :eek:hyeah:
Common thing between them is they both use the same socket LGA 1156
but Core i3 is limited to I thinh H55 H57 chipsets:no:

dont think everything u posted is correct
1) Core i3 is on lower die 32 nm compared to 45 nm of i5
afaik, only core i5 750 is 45nm. The newer Core i5 6xx are 32nm

2) It has graphics chip built on the CPU die itself
again from what I've read, all the new 32nm parts (Core i3 and Core i5 6xx) have GPU on CPU die.

also I think Core i3 can still be used in the P55 mobos, only thing is you wont be able to use the onboard gpu.

If I'm wrong, please correct me :)

@OT would be better if you could list exactly which components you are looking for in the 30K budget. Building complete i5 system from scratch in 30K looks to be difficult.

you forgot i3 is dual core only & i5 has dual & quad both
