I didn't like my last Turion-based notebook (was a bit sloppy with XP, even with 2GB mem), so when I needed a budget notebook recently I went with the T2330 instead of the TL64. Maybe things have changed with their X2 lineup, but I won't take my chances.

Vista 32-bit Home Premium (and Linux too) runs smooth on my HP tx1302au tablet with 2GB RAM and an AMD TL-58 Turion 64 X2 dual-core 1.9 ghz CPU :)

Thanks Vishal n Rio

Rio howz ur T2330 working?is it gud-performance n all.

N by da way its been how long since u used tht Turion lappy...bcoz i have seen few reviews n they say turion series has changed a lot n they r much better now...especially Turion 64 TL64(2.2Ghz) da one i m looking is der best for laptops!!

n yeaa tht 2nd option i have given with T2330 is de cheapest amongst other 2!!

I have both, a T7300 and T2330, running Vista Home Premium, and there's not a lot of difference between the two when running regular apps... despite the T2330 notebook running only 2GB RAM.

Hmmm k thanks a lot Rio for ur Quick reply!!

So temme which one i shud ask her to buy?

n how gud is Nvidia Geforce Go 7150M onboard grapix compared to X3100?

I haven't used an X2 Turion so can't compare it to the T2330, but I can say I'm impressed with the T2330 after using a T7300 for a couple months now. Re graphics, can't tell the difference between those but if she isn't going to game, it doesn't matter.

Thanks once again Rio,n sorry for botherin u again n again!!

Nops shez not goin to game on tht lappy...Surfing,music,wireless,video's n thins like tht!!

so now i m not considering Dell at all!!

Both HP model:-
1:-
• Intel Pentium Dual Core T2330
• Built-in wireless 802.11bg
Windows® Vista Home Premium
Everythin else is same

2:-AMD Turion 64 X2 TL64 dual core
• Built-in 802.11a/b/g/n wireless LAN
• Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate
Everythin else is same

^^Above config with TL64 is almost 100$ more compared 2 T2330,but it has Vista Ultimate, better wireless lan...everythin else is same!!

Ur final thought?

if it matters, i noticed my turion (tl-58) is a newer stepping with the virtualisation option available to enable in the BIOS of my HP tx1302au tablet.

i havent yet tried it, but its there :)

i think the intel you mentioned is the older "pentium dual core" and not the newer conroe/allendale based "core 2 duo" am i right (anyone) ?

Aniruddh, I'd assume that extra $100 was to cover the cost of Vista Ultimate - now I'm no expert on Vista so I'm clueless about features of Vista Ultimate 32-bit vs. Vista Home Premium. Right off the bat, however, I'd recommend she save that 100 bucks unless it was Vista Ultimate 64-bit (and even then, would she really need a 64-bit OS?). Hope that helps...

@vishal, T2330 is the "new" Pentium dual core for budget notebooks.

Thanks a ton Rio,Vishal all ur suggestions were vry helpfull!!

K i have finalised wat lappy she shud buy!

@Rio yea its a Vista Ultimate 64 version :) (but i doubt she'll need tht) !!

Thanks :hap2:
