Storage Solutions International Warranty for HDDs?

Is it available? coz my sister is coming from UAE and was thinking of asking her to carry couple of 2TBs INTERNAL HDDs(SG or WD)along with her.But since the reliability is very poor in case of these modern high-density storage devices, I would bother only if International Warranty would be available/honored here.

So, plz lemme know about the same...:)

Is there a difference in the pricing of the 2TB drives compared to India and AUH?

A new Seagate LP 2TB costs about ~5k here. The WD 2TB Caviar Green costs roughly the same.
 
What I did when i got HDDs from dubai back in 2005 was ask the dealer if i could use his internet for a minute, then keyed in the model/serial number in the warranty check page making sure to select india as the region. I even RMAd my older model (7200.10?) seagate and got a 7200.12 in return. If the warranty check page shows all ok with india as region, then there should be no issues claiming warranty here. I'm not sure but i think WD and samsung are region specific.
