Storage Solutions international warranty on hard drives ?

Hi guys..
was looking for hardrives for my macbook pro, interested in 500 gb / 640 gb models

do you know which brand offers international warranty because i dont seem to be getting 500gb 7200rpm drives in india anywhere (plz correct if wrong) ?

Yeah 500GB 7200rpm drives are hard to find. But nope, unfortunately no international warranty.

You can change the region on WD hard drives, just keep the serial no. in hand.

I called up their helpline and confirmed sometime back.

I just registered two of my 500giggers online with a US address. These disks were purchased in India.

Followed that up by looking up the warranty status, and both show up just fine(in warranty)

Just order it form NewEgg from KMD. 7200 rpm hdds are very hard to find and are costly . Ebay dealer delhi mall & techshop.in has 7200 rpm 500gb seagate momentus but its way too costly around 7.5 K. I just order seagate 500gb 7200rpm from Newegg thru KMD for 5.6K

Seagate doesn't give International Warranty anymore.. Unless you have importers name in the warranty check page you do not get warranty in India.
If the drive dies you are in soup my friend

Best solution is to get a Western Digital HDD thru KMD and change the region.

the WD method is a guaranteed success ? i dont want to end up with a dead hardrive and no warranty ?
