iphone 3gs users please help..

my iphone 3gs OS just got crashed.
It was 3.0 jailbreaked
but as now new firmware is available i.e 3.1, i am unable to restore to 3.0
iphone is not booting up. just shows the white apple logo and than it halts there..
what should i do.:huh:

Did you do iTunes update?

If yes, you are royally screwed.

no i dint..
i am aware of baseband issue..
but now as there is no option to get back 3.0, what should i do?

Have you updated to iTunes 9 ?

If not, you are still in luck !

Connect phone to iTUnes.

Put your phone in DFU mode.

The phone will be restored to original factory settings and you can jb / unlock using redsn0w / ultrasn0w later !

I hope you know how to put your phone in DFU mode.

Just google for it if you don't, or post here and I will help you out with the same

downgrading to 3.0 from 3.1 cannot downgrade the baseband. it can only downgrade the firmware..

when i used itunes it says it will restore iphone to the latest firmware..
i tried itunes 8.2.

Unfortunately, you're in a soup right now. Apple has stopped signing the 3.0 firmware ipsw files when you try to restore it to your phone. Your only hope now is to get hold of a custom 3.1 ipsw without the baseband update. Or hang on till the Dev Team releases a jailbreak/unlock for 3.1.
