Welcome to a life less orderly. As official soundtrack to the random revolution, the iPod Shuffle Songs setting takes you on a unique journey through your music collection — you never know what’s around the next tune. Meet your new ride. More roadster than Rolls, iPod shuffle rejects routine by serving up your favorite songs in a different order every time. Just plug iPod shuffle into your computer’s USB port, let iTunes Autofill it with up to 240 songs(1) and get a new experience with every connection. The trail you run every day looks different with an iPod shuffle. Daily gridlock feels less mundane when you don’t know what song will play next. iPod shuffle adds musical spontaneity to your life. Lose control. Love it.

iPod shuffle makes syncing a piece of cake. Cupcake, even. Use the optional Dock to connect to your computer or just plug iPod shuffle directly into a USB port on any computer(4). Then drag and drop individual songs, Autofill your favorite playlists or Autofill your iPod shuffle with a random sampling from your music library. Since iPod shuffle automatically charges while syncing, it stays ready for your next adventure.

Start your Hunt  !!

Sony has also jumped into the flash memory mp3 players

Sony has unveiled its first flash memory-based portable music players, with a bewildering array of nine different models.

These latest additions to the Network Walkman portfolio offer 256MB, 512MB or 1GB of storage in three ranges; the entry-level NW-E100 series, the mid-range NW-E400 series and the high-end NW-E500 series.

The NW-E100 comprises the NW-E103, NW-E105 and NW-E107, with 256MB, 512MB and 1GB capacity respectively and available in six colours. Each has an LCD display showing song, artist, or album titles and provides up to 70 hours of playback (albeit of 105Kbps ATRAC3 files) on one AAA alkaline battery.

The NW-E400 series comprises the 256MB NW-E403, the 512MB NW-E405 and the 1GB NW-E407 in black, blue, red and green. They have an 'Organic EL' display that shows three lines of text including information such as the time. A built-in lithium-ion rechargeable battery provides up 50 hours of playback (see above) and the quick charge function delivers, says Sony, three hours of play with just three minutes of recharging.

Finally the NW-E503, NW-E505 and NW-E507 add a built-in FM digital tuner to the corresponding E400 models and different colours: 'subtle' hues of silver, blue, pink and gold.

The players will be available in April.

Well...one thing that puts me off is the fact that the batteries in Apple's players r not user-replaceable! That means when the battery life is over (yes, these batts. have a limited life as well), u'll have to send it to apple for changing it and that means $100 missing from ur wallet! :p
Whereas in players like Creative, etc., u can get it done urself for just arnd $ 25-30!

Offtopic: U can't even use the Shuffle as a paperweight b'coz of its lightness.

Ipod Mini is the worst out of all ipods in sound quality. Also the jack seems to have issues and generates a lot of static. I rmr reading somewhere that changing the jack improves snd quality tremendously. The ipod earbuds are the same across all models if i've not mistaken. they are pretty decent.
