Checked out the site a couple of days back. People behind IRCTC must be intrigued by the earning opportunities of an e-commerce site. Instead of fixing the horrible official site of IRCTC they have started to diversify.

This is an attempt to redirect logged on female users to shopping during peak times, so the load on ticketing service could be reduced.

I remember when IRCTC had put google ads (or similar service) on their website, Indigo ad used to come regularly for me showing travel in air @ price of rail fare. Lol, I guess selling rail services on their website is of least priority to them, they supposedly want to earn money using ads and now e-commerce , idiots
