Graphic Cards Irritating display issue.

Guide
Hi all.
Well i am facing a strange irritating issue from the past few days.sometimes whenever i switch on my system the system starts but i get no signal from the monitor.Even if i try to switch off the system it dosent gets switched off.I mean the green light still remains.
I removed the gpu tried with the onboard vga and faced the same issue there too.Though very less frequent there.

Now i am really annoyed what may be the problem.

not very sure, but check your PSU, RAM and motherboard. One of these must be the culprit. suggest you to start with PSU - > RAM - > mobo.

my psu is new not even a month old. This started when i opened the cabinet for applying thermal paste to the cpu.

UPDATE:-NO problem with the onboard vgs. This only starts when i apply the gpu.

Could you list your specifications?
If I'm getting you correctly, when you use your discrete gfx, you have problems turning on the computer sometimes. Does the motherboard emit any beeps? Do the fans blow at full speed when you have no display?
Also, do you have another computer to try your gfx card on?

I had a similar issue which stemmed from PSU overheating, and it was very random. Sometimes the computer would work, other times it would suddenly shut down, and upon restarting only the fans would go at full speed and nothing else would happen.

whats ur PSU?

So you're using Seasonic S12II 620W. That's strange, maybe a dud unit? Seems unlikely but this stuff happens.
Anyway, does the mobo POST/beep when failing? I didn't get which mobo you're using. If it's not the PSU, you need to start looking at mobo for issues. Did you follow the PSU and mobo manuals when installing everything? Is the mobo being shorted by the case by any chance (from backside).

^^I have mentioned that after switching to the vga and then again reverting to discreet the problem didnt showed. Btw before switching to the vga mode i also did cleaned the gpu slot.
Again i should mention that it started when i opened the cabinet to apply thermal paste to the cpu.As the proccy was getting very hot.
but i sometimes feel shock when i touch the cabinet.

Do you mean that the problem is fixed and you're happy?
If not, then that does not answer my question. Does the motherboard beep when you have THIS problem (no display/nothing)?
Have you made sure to use insulators between the motherboard and the mobo tray of your case?
What are your processor temperatures under load?
By the looks of it, it IS a hardware problem, and the leakage currents to your cabinet does not sound good. It doesn't matter if the computer works after shifting through onboard and external video cards. We still haven't located the fault area yet, which sucks because that is incredibly difficult to diagnose by an isolated third party.

Cabinet leakage current is probably not related, but its due to improper earthing in your power socket.
It is still good to fix it.

Your other thread says you were facing high CPU temps... was that fixed?

Your discrete GPU not working could be a faulty GPU, or even a PSU issue if its not supplying enough power. Its not unusual for a PSU to be DOA. Have you connected the PCI-E power connector?
I'm sorry to say this but its a good idea to detail all your specs so we know what we're looking at rather than referencing other threads. We have no idea what GPU you're using.

yes it is connected via pcie connector and yes cpu temps it seems are normal now. But overall system temp is a bit hight hdd's goes to max 60 deg when in load otherwise stays at 53-56 deg.Rest all temps are as they were before.Insulator i havent checked yet.
Well it seems the mobo does beeps before booting when the system works normally. But when i was having that problem the mobo was not beeping at all.
As already mentioned it seems after doing that procedure the problem is not there now.
system is already mentioned in that thread whose link i have posted above.

Btw thanks for replying.
