Is 1GB Bandwidth is Enough?

Hello Friends,

I can't decide on Broadband or Dialup.

As now I am using unlimited Dialup so I can't able to say How much Bandwidth is my Requirements.

Basically I use net for surfing, reading, Forum Discussion nearly for 12 hrs a day.

I never Download any Software, music, movie etc. big files.

Now MTNL's 1GB (night surfing free) RS=590/- plan is within my Budget, but I don't know if 1GB is enough for my uses.

Please help me if any one have Idea about my above requirements.:huh:

Suggest me ASAP as MTNL's RS.150/- Plan Booking last date is 31-3-06.

i think 1GB is good enuf for u ..

cuz i am on a 1Gb limit as well , and if i surf only .. then by the end of the month i am left wid abt 400-300MB worth of dwnload limit .. which is very fine ..

so as far as i see.. u shdnt be havin any problems .. Go Ahead ..
 
Yes, the consider surfing as Download.

You are downloading data arent you ;)

If you dont download anything. It should be more than sufficient.

But just curious so I am asking Do you surf 10-12 hrs a day, as I am going to use Broadband for 10-12 hrs surfing.

Due to limited Budget I can not go for more than 1GB.

Please clarify more .......

i am always online .. Lest if the bloody electricity screws my plan ..

and i do believe that MTNL guys wd be havin an account for u .. the day u think u will exceed the 1GB limit .. simply oversleep ... :P

Get a program that would monitor the amount you have downloaded so that you don't exceed your limit. 1gb is enough for a month surf only. Occasional downloads here and there upto 5-10mb's is also fine.
 
I am on 56k and when I purge my browser cache at the end of each month, it's built up to around 300-500mb everytime.
So that's your browsing and you can use the remaining half of the GB for file downloads.

Well I've been only browsing for the past few days(hardly downloaded anything large but lots of browsing.) and my average was around 70-80MB/day. So at that rate, 1GB would last around 25days. So you get the picture!

i was thinking about it, 10-12 hours a day should really take you up close to 30mb/day.
What are you going to do? If checking emails, chatting, posting on forums and blogs, reading news is all you're going to do then its absolutely fine. But if its anything else that required more bandswidth like visitng sites like newgrounds or youtube (what i mean is if you're going to view videos/play flash games/download wallpapers, or even stream news on cnn.com) for 10-12 hours a day then i'm afraid 1gb won't fit!

Are you sure no other plan is available you can go in for? If this is the only plan you can do now, then like i said before get a bandwidth meter to keep a check on how much you are doing in a day. It souldn't exceed 30mb/day.
