I have upgraded my Rig & this is the final configuration :

As the items were bought haphazardly & also on impulse, maybe some of my components require change or addition for optimum performance

AMD Athlon II 620

ASUS M2N-E

Transcend 2GB X 2 DDR2 667

Cooler Master Real Power Pro 460W

Palit 4870 Sonic 512 MB

WD 500 GB Blue & Seagate 250 GB

SCCF 120

SONY DVD Writer

Zebronics Mid Tower Case with 1 120mm side panel Inlet fan & 1 80mm Exhaust Rear fan

Windows XP 32 Bit

(Planning for Windows 7 64 Bit-as dual os)

No intentions to OC CPU or GPU

22" Viewsonic LCD 1680 X 1050 Native resolution

I use the system mainly for my stock market trades & occasional gaming

The temps are 32-38 for CPU & 51-63 for GPU (idle & Load)

I have absolutely no problem whatsoever in the system, just a surety check on if I have missed something.

Change the PSU and get atleast a VX450 [or consider a VX550 for future upgrades].Otherwise your config looks cool:ohyeah:
 
^For that configuration, that CM PSU is more than enough.

@OP : Well, I would have consulted here before venturing out to buy a rig. Guys at TE would have guided you in a better direction. Why did you opt for 4870 instead of 5770?

As i said earlier, the component buying was totally haphazard & unplanned !

I started my upgrade with just replacing my motherboard whose PCI-e slot had stopped working & then kept buying 1 component after the other haphazardly & impulsively to end up with this combination.

Is this motherboard specs good enough to run the CPU & the GPU to full capacity ?

I had initially bought a Sapphire 4670 but because I got a very sweet deal on the 4870, I went for it

I think VX 450 & Real Power 460 are near identical except a very slightly lower 12V output but a better efficiency in the Real Power.

I was also impressed by Jay Mathers review of the same on TE & I also Pmed him & took his advise before buying the same

If you are satisfied with the gaming performance and can successfully run your professional office software ---- you are fine...!
 
All the components look good hope the PC overall is also a solid affair :)

My only nit pick would be why did you go for DDR 2 RAM its going to be harder for you to upgrade in the future

1. The CPU Athlon 620 is not recognised by Windows XP-says unknown AMD processor 4 core in Device Manager although no ? mark

If the CPU is not recognized by Windows, does the performance of the CPU degrade ?

ASUS site also says the mobo does not support 620 whereas it supports 635 (Which are identical AFAIK except for the speed increase)

2. Has Pcie X 16 & not PCIe 2.0-

Is it bottlenecking the 4870 ?

3. Has FSB of only 1600 MT/s-(What ever it means & does no idea..Just saw that it is lower then other newer mobos)

How much maximum FSB speed does my CPU or GPU need ?

Am I being paranoid & looking for ghosts where there are none ?

Please advise
