Is it safe to buy Refurb or Used Hdd's from eBay? Saw a 3TB WD Purple internal hdd for 5499 or something. Seller warranty for a year.
Item description says OEM hdd. Is it fake or something?

This is pulled from a system/machine. For warranty, you are dependent on seller.

He may not deny but working with him/her can be tricky. Aspects like time period for RMA, what would be replacement drive, are tricky. Since this would be pulled out from some system, s/he would need to go to manufacturer of that system. It would be good to ask him about what does s/he mean by OEM drives in his/her words.

Dont buy hard disks second, especially NON SSD types. Data can be precious and these HDD have all sorts of jugaad done to make em run well fr 4-5 months. Better buy new or from known people only.

I have brought used ssd and hdd's from ebay for quite some time.i havent experienced any case of failure in the last 9 months

Don't buy just for sake of warranty, Seller Warranty = No Warranty!
