In complete sleep/suspend mode "S3", when the whole system appears to be in powered off state (processor fan/hdds/ etc. all off) is it safe to remove any connected IDE or Sata drive unless its the system boot drive?

Has anybody tried this?

I think its completely safe as theres no power to any of the hard drives supplied during this period.

I have already figured it out just after opening this thread.. I successfully unplugged sata and ide drives except my boot disk and system was as is. No issues/bsods/hangs etc.
