Is MTS application deliberately showing wrong speeds?

As mentioned in the title, I have a doubt about the upload and download speed which appear on the mts application.

I was uploading some photos in website, and it is showing avg upload speed as 60 kb/s...but at the same time mts application is showing 660kbps...

How can it be....is my understanding wrong?.....refer the attachment

The speed what your getting is approximately right!
The MTS application shows a speed of 660 KiloBitsPerSec (Kbps), while the uploading application what your using to upload your photographs online is roughly around 61KiloBytesPerSec(KBps).

There is contention ratio of 1:8/ 1:10 applied on your connection, so if you were to do 660Kbps/8 or 660Kbps you would be getting 66KBps-88KBps which is roughly correct. But I'm not sure what is contention ratio applied by MTS!
 
Yes, you are right.
And I got confirmation from MTS is that their average speed is 350 kilobits/sec

Until now I used to think Kbps stands for kilobytes/sec :mad::wtf:
 
for kilobytes/sec big B is used always as in KBps or as kBps ,for bits is always kbps or Kbps
Also contention ratio is entirely diff. ,for bits and Bytes there is and always be a factor of 8.
