I'm sorry if I sound angry, but this is just horribly frustrating.

Every time I post, I have to wait like 10-12 hours before it is visible. Over the past 2 weeks or so, it has often even happened that I want to post something, then I just get a vague feeling of 'why bother', and I just... not post.

Even worse, if I post something addressed to the OP offering an answer/advice etc, and while my post is in the approval-queue, other people post stuff. When my post finally gets approved and appears, it is placed before the other posts. Sure, it is precise timestamp-wise, but it can be that the thread-creator just skips directly to the end of the page to look at the 'newest' post, fully missing mine.

The same problem can also easily happen if there is one of those massive threads, eg. 'How much can I get for my old stuff'. Of course the thread I mentioned moves very slowly, imagine a highly active thread... my post can easily be skipped-over.
When I registered on ThinkDigit, I had to endure mod-approval there as well, but the max I ever had to wait was 1 hour. 15-30 minutes in most cases.

Just how many people are allowed to do the approval?
Wouldn't it be possible to give "reputed" members, ie. long-time/well-known members permission to do this as well, instead of just admin... or whatever the case is now?

It would greatly speed up the process.

Wow.. I totally understand your point. I approved your thread after 17 hours of you posting it. :ashamed:

All the mods have access to approve the posts but I guess it gets neglected a bit. It is detrimental to the community growth as well if the new members cannot post freely and get frustrated.

Nevertheless we are in the process of improving this system in the coming weeks so that new members do not get neglected. I know it will not impact you as you will soon be beyond these limitations but thanks for bringing this up.

Well, thanks for the positive response.

*Blood temperature slowly drops to normal*

No worries about no immediate change. I'm just glad you're looking into it now :)

And hey, since the no. of posts for new users that are moderated is set dynamically, how bout levelling me up, eh? I've made a few helpful posts already, I think. eh? eh? *nudge* *nudge* *wink* *nudge* eh? eh? *nudge* :ashamed:

Well you have crossed the limit now. The changes are automatic and take some time to take effect. The duration is internal to how forum software works, so am not sure.

If you guys need can help with the approval of the posts? I am mostly online on TE all through the week and weekends i log in less hours...

Provided you dont need to make me a mod... Just give me the privileges to approve posts if that is possible anyhow...

If you find this post wierd or vague please delete no problems...

Apologies for this, Santa Maria. Posts are approved by the respective section MODS, and the General mods. We have noted and try to be more proactive. Sorry again.

Thanks for the candid feedback/critique.

Let see how things go after the said improvement. If needed we will definitely look for some volunteers to help us out.

Same holds for me. Have the time and inclination to do any bit.

Congrats, mate! Now to start on my grievances....

To the MODs, I can understand that typing in sms lingo is not preferred, but to use simple abbreviations like u , ppl, ur, etc is too much?

Unfortunately we don't see that changing at all. They are quiet disruptive to the flow of reading and we are pro-English Nazis :)
