Video Is Thomson brand good?

I think its manufactured by sppl or someone who mass produces 3-4 other brands of tv's.
prices of Thomson 4k hdr tv with 500 nits brightness is too good.

43 inch for ~20k. ips panel. what cons this brand has?

seems to be running ancient android 9 version. even their latest 2023 models just have android 10 version. what lazy bums. android 14 is almost out now.

Android tv doesn't follow the same pace as android phone os. Currently android tv 12 is still in beta.

Would suggest TCL instead it has better after sales service or can go with toshiba/hisense which gives more features but has the risk of low qc.

Likely they licensed out their name to some OEM.

From budget brands, IMO stick to Vu, Xiaomi or Hisense. Do check for after sales, like service centre. Vu 43" 4K or Redmi X43 are my recommendation to most people.

Also wait for sale starting on 9/10 Oct. Redmi X43 was 20k after offers last year.

Thomson is now owned by Super Plastronics, a Noida-based company that imports directly from China.

Avoid.
Bought their tv . The only thing going for them is the price.
And they call to solicit 5 star review for additional three month warranty.

I will suggest always to stay away from such brands along with similar cheapos like sanyo, kodak, iffalcon etc.
These are just attractive on rates but totally trash and lifetime headaches with zero guarantee how soon they will conk-off!

Better to stick to MI, VU, Hisense etc.

QC is pathetic. Had dust stuck inside over the panel. Avoid.
