Was thinkin of askin ppl to tell abt the type of connection u all are on ..

i mean wether its Airtel/Dataone/Sify etc..

Just to provide a sort of a handy directory which anyone can use for specific / characteristic troubleshooting ...

Here's a generic template for the same -

ISP: VSNL Tata Indicom "Broadband"
Speed: 64kbps Unlimited (actually i'm on 128 kbps now, but i wont go into the details :p )
Charge: Rs.551 (inclusive of service tax)
Location:Chennai

Comments: Excellent Customer Care. Absolutely no downtime. Terrible wiring. Exhorbitant pricing.

Feedback : Excellent, prompt service and no/rare downtimes.

Connection Type : ADSL - via ethernet modem.

Plan Details : 512 kbps 4GBs Download Limit

Charges(All inclusive) : Rs.2399 + Rs.80 Modem Rental

Feedback : Excellent, and no downtimes.
and i cant help but mention this.... MtNl ROCKS!!
 
ISP : Airtel / Touchtel.

Plan : 128 kbps day hours & 256 kbps night hours. (download / upload full unlimited )

Cost : 699+70 --> 769/month :)

Modem : Beetel 220bx

Area : Bangalore.

Feedback : Airtel rules the ISP sector. :)
Since 1.5 i've been using Airtel connection....
1) queries/problems/requests fullfilled by CC within 36 hrs.
2) 0 Downtimes....
3) get consisteny speed & good latency
4) Good modems
5) no billing mistakes....:D :: :D
 
ISP : BSNL DATAONE

Plan : Business 700 (256 KBPS 2 GB per month)

Cost : 700/- per month plus service tax

Modem : ADSL router (huawei smartax mt 880)

Area : surat, gujarat

feedback : excellent speeds, no downtime, very good cc (you may find it surprising but it really exists here for dataone)

Not happy with : capped bandwith plans and home and business plans charged differently :sad:

64 kbps

18k for 3 years unlimited (this ends in a months time which is why i want airtel to launch in bandra soon)

i got the most out of my 64 kbps but their pricing for 256kbps is just freakin stupid...too damn high

Night unlimited, queue everything for between 2-8am.

BSNL DataOne 384Kbps
Stable 32-48kB/s with no downtimes. And a 2gb limit :(

Plan Details :Night 10 to morning 10,Sunday whole day free (so sat 10 pm to mon 10 am)

Feedback :The best customer service and absolutely 0 downtime in 8 months of usage.(1year if u concider mt previous plan)

Plan Details : NIGHT UNLIMITED(9 TO 8) 256Kbps (got 512kbps from 11pm to 6am)

Charges(All inclusive) : Rs.660 (included free 100 calls)

Location : Delhi

Feedback : Airtel is the best
