Some people have reported my latest sale threads in Market, started today, as the date in the pics being older than the date the sale was started.

Mods have asked me upload fresh pics with the latest date.

I have no issues with the mods as they are only doing their duty. :)

But i will really appreciate those who reported the threads to post here what they found wrong apart from the date. :S

Today is the 25th.

Pics were clicked on the 19th and were lying in my cam for some days.

I have been testing some old rigs, dealing with a case of market fraud and have been busy with other work and my main rig was down for some time too.

I had to resize those pics, mask serials if need be and upload and then start a thread with all details.

All that does take time too and needs some free time primarily when i am not tending to other people's issues.

Yet i do manage to do it asap most of the times iirc.

Please, let me know what is wrong with those sale threads. :)

I do this for free as a hobby and to help good/genuine people/friends and don't make a single rupee as some buy-for-less-and-sell-for-more members/dealers.

I will do any necessary changes provided the people who found something wrong with the sale threads express explicitly what they found wrong and why. :)

we cant really be making exceptions right?
Not that i was the one who reported it :P

but still.. not everyone on TE knows who bikey is ;)

Why were the pictures even reported to the moderator teams...? The well wishers / curious Georges' could have just mentioned it on your own thread "not sure about the image dates, are they current..?". Or they could have sent you a private message too. Keep it clean and simple. Snitching is yuck..! And this is what happened.

Because no member is an exception on TE. That's why! ;)

Bikey, TBH I do report sale threads if I find the slightest discrepancy in the date or user name - some members post a similar user name since they may have to put up the same pics on other forums. But did not report yours. :gap:

Not all of the members know that especially since market sale threads have been allowed to be posted by members with a 0 post count.

Henceforth click a later date and put up the snaps. Lazy bum!

Yes no one is an exception, but was wondering, what harm would have come, if the one would have just asked within the thread -- date is incorrect. Any ways, mine is a minor point. Just what I felt. Was not trying to place the OP on an exception pedestal.

I have never expected an exception ever, for anyone and i am sure even you guys know that.

So stop saying things that potray so.:cool2:

In fact, i have always said that market threads with improper pics/no note be trashed on sight, no lockup.

So the mods were very merciful imho if they found my threads wrong. :)

But a difference of 6 days is huge?

And inspite of posting so many pics one has doubts over the products?

And even if it was a problem for some, couldn't they have posted/PMed asking for clarifications.

Even in some threads with bad/partial pics, i have requested the seller to post clear/full pics, especially if interested in buying the same.

1. You must have the product you are selling in possession at the time of sale.

Check
2. You must provide 2 clearly visible pictures of the product along with your TE username and date written by hand on a piece of paper next to the product.

Check

Try to provide picture of bundled accessories if any.

Check
...
4. You are taking responsibility of the sale even if you are selling it on behalf of someone else. You will be held responsible for smooth completion of the deal.

Check

...

If you want me to dissect stuff, TE rules say name and date, handwritten and 2 clear pics.

I have always put more than 2 clear pics and different from each other.

Not like 2 crappy pics shot the same way looking almost identical, etc.

So is their any technical mistake in the pics or sale threads i have posted? :)

There are threads where people don't even put the date on the note.

On other occasions, people post a bunch of pics without note and then to make up, post one pic with a note and the sale goes on.

Some can't be bothered to take out the gpu/cooler/etc and click pics in situ- one can hardly make out the condition of the product.

Some might not even have the product in possession, especially while selling on behalf of a friend and ask others to take pics with their name on the note.

But i am not one of those and am only concerned with my sales and always try my best to not violate any rules even unknowingly.

So since no one replied here yet, may i safely assume that no one reported the threads? :)

And if anyone has reported them for real, please reply up asap- else the above will hold true and i may request the mods to open up my threads.

Well.. I managed to find one rule violation :p

http://www.techenclave.com/market-feedback/

Guess the fact that the rules don't explicitly mention how old the date on the pics needs to be http://www.techenclave.com/members-...technology-community-market-rules-110814.html

could be considered a loophole.

However this also means that folks might have different interpretations of the same. It could be very possible that the person who reported it was a bit of a newb to TE..

Frankly, i don't see any reason behind you trying to justify your position and defend yourself.. coz there really is no reason for it.. especially through a public thread.

A simple pm to a mod to clarify would have solved the issue. right?

There are still some active threads that didn't have a date on the note.

How very convenient i must say.

Maybe this issue wouldn't have risen if i had not followed all rules. :gap:

Secondly, i didn't get what violation you imply stalker. :ashamed:

Thirdly, since i do not doubt the mods at all, it is sure someone or maybe many have reported the threads.

If the mods have decided to take action on basis of those report and have checked at their end for a rules violation, then there must be a definite violation as per them but i am not being able to define at my end.

Also mods may/can not reveal ids and i cannot seek individual clarification via PM from those.

So no point PMing the mods na- why trouble them and burden them more?

Something that you cannot accept/proclaim as your own cannot be laid claim to imho. :)

So if no one replies/accepts they have reported my threads and clarify why, then it can be also taken as no one reported them to begin with.

Then i can request the mods to open my threads. :P

Hence this public announcement, so that if there is someone, they may not declare later that they were unaware. :)

Coz feedback section is like the notice board at school- our fault if we fail to take note of anything pertaining to us. :gap:

this thread is in the regular feedback corner.. NOT market feedback, where it should be :p

How does it matter as to who reported the violation? The mods decided that it was a violation and locked the thread. Shouldn't you be getting any and all clarifications from them?

I know and it's on purpose.
I didn't want this issue to distract/divert attention from more pressing matters posted there such as the threads dealing with fraudsters/scamsters. :)

Also this deals with rules in general.

I won't challenge the authorities- especially the very people who mentored/guided me and have been so nice to me till date.
It's the least i can do as a sign of respect for them.
Their decision is binding and i will respect it- which is why i haven't or won't open those threads and bump them.

But i hope i do have a right to know what was exactly wrong, with valid justifications and hence this thread. :)
