Your decision. This is an ethical grey area, and the forum rules do not dictate one way or the other.
But if you do deal sniping quite often, you might need reseller account or get banned (Some people have got bans for purchasing every good deal online and selling here later, or purchasing every good deal on TE and selling elsewhere - Jaydeep Mori comes to mind).

99.99% time, sellers at TE hide prices and quote higher than .... and than keep reducing till it get sold.
Hiding actual purchase price should be BANNED at TE, if any seller want to hide actual price, count them for PROFIT SELLERS and they MUST GIVE minimum 180 days to 365 days warranty to buyer, just like offline sellers are doing/providing warranty.

But I would think it works both ways.
Sometimes you buy something new at lets say 50K and a few months later, the new price tumbles to 30K so if you want to sell it, you sell it at 20 which is a 60% depreciation.
if otoh you brought a GPU at 30K in 2019 and the prices shot up to 60K by 2021, there is no reason you should have to sell it for 25 or even 30K

If buyer don't want it at the sellers price he is welcome to buy it new which is still higher than what seller is quoting.
If one is unlucky and didn't got it at that lower price when it was available then it is not the sellers issue that he got it at lower price and now he can sell at higher price.
It's sellers choice to sell at his price and buyer's choice to buy or not at that price and cause u were not able to get it at lower price during sale u will definitely not feel good.
These kinds of members are very harmful and will soon ruin this site. They should be restricted or banned, especially if they’re using this platform for business purposes.
I’m not really interested in buying or selling, but the rules have been useful to me a few times when I dealt directly with buyers or sellers.
Sometimes, I’ve made silly mistakes in my own sales posts, like adding the wrong details. People have sent me direct messages to let me know, giving me time to fix them. Other times, online staff members have fixed the issues for me.
I’ve been visiting this site for years, mainly for the tech discussions. Personally, I’ve ignored the classifieds section because it feels like clutter and isn’t useful to me.

I feel one can list for whatever they want. The buyer can do their due diligence and buy if they think the price being asked is ok with him.

I dont think selling a product for more than buying price is an issue tbh.
If the market price is more , then its ok to sell at a higher price .
However just be transparent about it.
Hiding prices on an invoice shouldn't be allowed.
So, what if the owner got it at a lower price , products sell at their market value and not what one paid for it.

I believe it should be left to the buyer and seller to deal at their agreed price!

I would say a forum should not interfere on pricing. its upto the seller since its their ownership and buyer for their want. the difference for the forum is whether they are selling same products or similar products multiple times which shows a business and should be rightly called out as a reseller with appropriate forum rules to follow.
other users sell as per their pricing and if they make a profit so be it, many times sales are at a depreacted price also. i think there is enough overhead at this point on the moderators and further moderation is not required.
The market will anyway decide whether it will get sold or not.

Sigh .. why do we keep flogging the same dead horse time and again ? I thought it was called a Marketplace for a reason. Folks searching for the soup kitchen, please look elsewhere.
Many members here post inflated prices, repeatedly bump their threads and gradually lower the price over several weeks. While I’m not singling out any solo user, I’ve noticed some TE members whose threads take months to finalize a deal. This not only discourages potential buyers but also devalues the product itself over time.
On the other hand, some members set reasonable prices from the start, and deals like those are what keep most of us coming back to TE.
To answer your question OP, you're free to list your item above purchase price but make sure pricing is fair. Or you risk driving away potential buyers.

Maybe mods need to make a poll on this too, or we would continue to voice contrasting opinions without reaching any consensus. Invoice price can be hidden or not, prices can be higher than buying prices or not, how many new items can you sell before you are deemed reseller/sniper... These are some options we can simplify with a poll.
Yeah said that many times before. There can't be a single valid reason for hiding the price on the invoice.

The heading itself feels biased! What about situations where sellers sell at a price much lower than what they originally paid? Buyers often justify the price by citing the current market price (CMP), so why not apply the same standard consistently?
I also agree with this. This section's intention was for forum members to offload spare items. If someone wants to make a profit let them register as a dealer.
Curbstone dealers junking up p2p marketplaces is a widespread problem everywhere. Try buying a used car from OLX /FB marketplace and 99% of the listings you'll get some hustler trying to act as a private seller. At least here on the forum where peer moderation is possible let us enable it.
