Laptops Lappy upgrade questions.

Thinking of upgrading the lappy. Well it has a core duo 2GHz, which is more than enuf for me. Has 1gig RAM and a 120gig SATA drive, thats where I wasnt to upgrade.

1. 4GB RAM or 2GB? Damn i dunno if my lappy supports 4GB :lol: Its a 945 board inside

2. How effective is a 7200rpm drive? Can I get one of the 7200 and use the existing 5400 SATA drive?

depends on what you do on your notebook for most users including you I suppose 1 gig is enough
1gb of ram on a notebook is more than enough re, 2gb is overkill 4gb is madness on a notebook :P
 
1gig for lappies is just 950 :P i think its worth it.

i've got stupid oracle intsalled on lappy, needed for work. BAH sucky software. sickenly slows down my lappy, eats ~250MB of RAM all the time :@

So shud i go for an external drive, say 500GB instead of the 7200 lappy drive?

OK, if i go for an external drive it gives me a million problems. Shud stay connected to the lappy all times, And i particularly have very bad luck regarding external drives :(

Any way to make something like a NAS out of it? Kinda like wireless NAS
