My budget is 50K, can be extended to 55K MAX.

Screen size - 15"+
Would be using it to play FPS games like Crysis etc.

OS is not an important factor here.

I think Acer has poor build quality, what are your views about this?
Brands I prefer - Dell, HP. Can go for others brands too if the deal is good.

I looked for Dell XPS 15, but cannot get the best combination between processor, RAM and GPU.

What are my best options I can get in my budget?

TY

I may suggest you an XPS 15 but mine is giving me alot of problems.. So STAY AWAY FROM It..

There was an Asus i7 + 15.6" + 4GB + 2GB GT 540M for 50k

Only con is 1366x768 Pixel Display..

But that much processing power at this resolution is truly Insane and thus, you can max out any game with AA(If I am not wrong).

Else go for the HP one.. But HP has some problems regarding Earthing and the ASS is not so good..

Choice is yours

Nothing beats Dell in ASS. And they're finally providing decent specs, check this out -
Vostro 3550 Laptop Details | Dell India

* Core i5 + ATI 6630 with graphics switching
* Aluminum built and Matte screen
* Backlit keyboard
* 1yr 'Accidental' warranty

HP DV4-3016TX with ATI 6750 will be even better for gaming.

Acer Timeline X also offers a good GT540M but availability is an issue and ASS is doubtful.

What is AAS, you guys are talking about?

what are the +points of the Full HD over the other resolution in the above laptops? Of course, more screen space, better viewing quality, what else? I don't think any modern games will run in Full HD with those specs.

I do not think that HP has any such major issue in earthing. I have been using a dv6 laptop since nearly a year and have not had any issue so far. I cannot comment on ASS though.

Performance wise, HP is much better in gaming than Dell and the i7 processor is just another added bonus for regular performance too. While the HP can give you an i7 + 6770, the Dell will only give you an i5 + 540M for a similar price.

But, screen quality, speaker quality and probably ASS are better in Dell. So, prioritize your needs, but surely go for the HP in case you plan to connect your laptop to a full HD monitor or HDTV for gaming.

For gaming you have two options, 1. HP DV6 - 6140TX (2nd gen core i7, 4gb ram, 500gb 5400rpm hard disk, 1gb ddr5 6770M) - 48-49K

and 2. HP DV6 - 6121TX (2nd gen core i7, 4gb ram, 640gb 5400rpm hard disk, 2gb ddr5 6770M) - 53-55K.

HP has a better graphics card.

Dell has better sound and better after sales service.

So choose accordingly.

How much diff. will it have b/w same GPU but with 1GB memory extra, 2GB 6770m and 1GB? Plus, is the 4GB RAM sufficient?

The difference will not be much! it will be around 1.5k max (you can get one separately later).

Bro RAM can never be enough! but going by what i take understand 4 GB should suffice(atleast for the timebeing) :)

If you game with a good cooling pad in ac room, it will be fine i guess.

heat produced is more compared to xps 15 as it has high class gfx card comparatively.

Other than Croma, can I get it from Distributor or just anywhere else?
