I have an Acer Aspire 4720....
I use the audio out port on the front end of the laptop to connect to my external speakers.
From the past few days tho there is a lot of disturbance in the output through the port. And it happens only when a sound is played else there is no "khur-khur" if the jack is simply connected .Same when i connect headphones instead of external speakers. Laptop inbuilt speakers however are working fine.
External speakers are also working fine since i checked them with a desktop.
Is it a soundcard problem or damaged output port?
