Hi TE members,

Please suggest me a laptop for running the software like Autocad, Catia, Solidworks, etc.

I was Looking for professional graphic cards like Quadro, ATI FirePro, NVS. But since the budget is so tight (45K -50K) I cannot opt for them.

I am looking for at least 1GB dedicated graphic card, fav Nvidia GT 330M
Also if any i-core processor.

I queried about Dell (vostro 3700, E6510, Inspiron), Vaio (VPCCW26FG/W)
but the range goes above 50K. HP(?)

So anybody can sort what should I go for?

But in the Autodesk Website, in the system requirements they recommends for hardware certified by Autodesk. There u will find the workstation cards been recommended...

How much will be difference in performance between working with normal graphic card and the workstation graphic cards.

I checked out Dell Inspiron 15R, which comes at Rs 42900/-

Intel® Core™ i5-430M Processor (2.26Ghz, 4 Threads, Turbo Boost up to 2.53 GHz, 3M cache)
4GB (2 X 2 GB) 2 DIMM DDR3 1333Mhz)
320GB 5400RPM Hard Drive
ATI Mobility Radeonâ„¢ HD 5470 - 1GB (India)
15.6 Widescreen HD WLED Glossy Display with TrueLifeâ„¢ (1366x768)
will this configuration work good for the above mentioned applications. The only thing I would go for change is to upgrade it with 9-cell battery. Please suggest.......

Finally Brought Sony Vaio E series VPCEA16FG. Price Rs 56000/- :)

Intel Core i5-520M 2.4 GHz
4GB DDR3
500GB
Ati Radeon HD5650
Windows 7 64-bit

Ya! I install AutoCad 2010 64-bit and its working like well. Solidworks 2009 is also working fine. I will install the 64 bit of Solidworks 2010 and check how it goes.
Thanks all for the advice.........
