I have a ATI Mobility raedon HD 5400 graphic card lying simply in my laptop. This is going to go to a place, where it wont be much of use. Can I use it with my desktop, where there is scope for its usage?

My desktop runs Windows 8.1 on motherboard ASUS H81M-V3 with Pentium G3220.

Your inputs are needed. I will take a help of h/w professionals for this transition. I'll be using the desktop for watching 3D movies and may be occasional 3D games. Will this transition help?

Any points to be taken care of?

Thanks,
Partha.

No. It is most likely soldered to the motherboard, and even if not, mobile GPUs will not be using the same PCI-e connectors/display output connectors as desktop cards.

Also the HD 5400 is probably way slower than the IGP on the G3220.
