My compaq v3018TU's motherboard is fried. i945gm.

I took it to a service station, the dude gives me a quote for 13k. Is that right? Secondly, suppose I want to get a newer motherboard in there, something with say a previous generation walla nVidia chipset (for bareable gaming, I play only wow), would that be possible?

The dude mumbled some shit about screws and joints, but i know for a fact that there were v3000 series laptops, just like mine which had nvidia chipsets. Can someone help?

Thanks, I guess I'll just go to some local jugad dude and get it fixed for a couple of thousand bucks. I was hoping against hope that I could bag a better mobo..dammit.
