Cant over clock nothing in notebooks .. well not the CPU etc, dont know about GPUs, I assume they are the same.

8400GS is a crippled card compared to 8400mGT which can be overclocked to 8600m GS levels. If you want any amount of decent gaming, get 8600m GT which in your budget is only in Dell 1520. Otherwise, ask someone coming from US or far east to carry a HP 8510p with a ATi 29ooHD card.

oops .. we discussed the AC stuff - sorry I did not remember who I was discussing with. :ashamed:

Their service is taken care by Wipro and one other company, onsite, I do think wipro should have servicing in your place. Did you ask Dell ?

@ indian ----> Im sayin after seeing it... D card is a superb overclocker...People have achieved a 100% or more overclock... And besides dell and HP downclock it further..

While im not so good @ overclokin n stuff,,, i do know how to verify the stuff,,,

Jus search for "overclock dell vostro 1400" go for 3rd result... a 31 page thread discussion on overclockin a graphics card..surely must be havin some metal...

And d card is good for medium setting gaming if dats wat ur lookin for...128mb gddr3, more than eough for occasional intensive graphics usage,,

The followings are 3DMark06 benchmarks with default 101.38 driver from Dell and 163.71 driver from laptopvideo2go.com.

101.38 default clocks -> 1106
101.38 overclocked -> 1452
163.71 default clocks -> 1365
163.71 overclocked -> 1815

Maximum GPU core temperature was 62C while running 3DMark06 test with 163.71 driver when overclocked.

So 64% higher performance!!!!

N its dx10 wid d latest shader n all..so as future proof as anythin available now..

Under normal circumstances they are stinking hot, most of this Ocing is done after opening up, laping and god knows what else, I doubt most want to do do that to a notebook.

And even if you do , After all that over clocking you cold use your notebook to iron your clothes :rofl:

@anirudh - did you contact dell ?

NOpe ambient temps reported...

N wat r laptop stands for...lol

n any way its an added bonus...lol...get your clothes ironed while u browse...no waste of time !!!!!
