Hi all,

I have a Dell Vostro 3700 (i5 2.53 ghz, 4gb ram DDR3 1066MHZ, 500gb HDD 7200rpm, Nvidia® Geforce™ GT 330M, 1GB Graphics) & it just shuts off if I switch to GPU (works fine with with onboard Intel HD gfx) & do half an hour of HD video editing. It use to work flawlessly before, has started this problem recently.

BTW, my laptop is almost 2 years old, so not under warranty.

So, what do you recommend? Get some cooling pad, etc.? Or show it to Dell service center or local repair shop in Mumbai?

Please help, thanks.

^ Hey I'm not comfortable with doing it myself, never done before, so will take it to some repair shop as also its screen panel has got loose. Any suggestions for repair shop in Mumbai?

BTW Thanks to both of you :)

A very simple jugaad way that worked with an overheating laptop was to simply put a inverted steel plate below the laptop.
This worked quite well for me.

^^ that wont really work, because the dust accumulated at the vent fins cant be just blown away like that, you ll need a brush to get away with that..
