  • What will be your primary usage for the notebook be? (e.g. web surfing/office apps/Casual Gaming)

In the decreasing order of priority
  • portability and build quality
  • connectivity (lan, wifi, usb 2.0 and 3.0, bluetooth)
  • office apps/web surfing
  • music and movies
  • casual gaming
  • What size and weight considerations do you have? (e.g. Do you want a 17" desktop replacement or you want an ultraportable 12" or something in between)

Looking for a 13"-14" laptop.
  • Any brand that you prefer, or any brand that you detest? (e.g some would prefer to stay away from Acer or Dell)

Something from ASUS, Dell, Sony and Lenovo Thinkpad. HP is a big no.
  • Any other considerations? (e.g Battery life; Widescreen/non-widescreen; Glossy/Matte screen etc.)

At least 2 hours of battery life while watching movies.

That is all I can think of right now in terms of requirements. Thanks in advance :)

Hi, i have a dell xps 15, L502x model with 9 cell battery, 10 months old, got 3 yrs accidental care..backlite key board, and 9 cell battery gives around 4hrs backup on normal usage..
