Laptops Laptop with 4 Gigs of RAM reqd

My friend wants to purchase a laptop with 4 Gigs of RAM. Discrete gfx are not reqd. Plain old integrated gfx is fine. Budget is 40K. PLease recommend a matching laptop model.

Buy any model you like. Most laptops nowadays can be upgraded to 4Gb.Ur actual problem, you will need to install a 64bit OS to take advantage of teh full 4Gb :P Difficult to do that me thinks ;)

true n then fr a 64 bit os which will most prolly b vista u wil need smthing btr than integrated graphics

not really. for normal use, integrated graphics is more than enough if he doesnt plan to game even for vista :)

Problem is getting 64bit drivers for teh laptop model you buy. So decide on a model n check the manufacturer support page once to confirm 64bit drivers :)

and well on my 6200.. vista rated it as 2.7 thats not even the required min for aero fox experience.. so how good wud an integrated graphics do...

(forgive me if i am ignorant but last time i saw a system with integrted graphics i pulled out my hair)

Dell inspiron 1525 with integrated gfx n 2Gb RAM = 3.5 rating :P lying beside me. Need a screenie?

are you looking for 4Gigs of RAM , for what purpose you need ? hey guy you have to go up on your budget to get a good model like LG and HP

Well, my friends' brother wants to run some memory intensive software for an exam that he is giving. Hmm...did not know about the 64 bit OS part. I think I'll ask him to get Vista then.

again like I said, make sure to check that 64bit drivers are available for the model from the company. else best option is an normal laptop and get 3Gb RAM.
 
HP supplies 64 bit Windows laptop with 4GB RAM. So you could easily get HP 64 bit drivers.

Even if you buy a 2GB or 3GB RAM Laptop, you can buy 1GB stick for less than 2K.
